Hoover Dam

Soil-Tech performed work on the approaches from both Arizona and Nevada, and was specifically called in by the federal agencies involved with the project to salvage the state protected Mojave Yucca and various cacti that were native to the area prior to construction of the new Mike O'Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge at the Hoover Dam. In addition, we were asked to restore the natural rock colors of the canyon walls after their disturbance during construction. Soil-Tech applied Permeon™ to restore the natural rock tones and mitigate the effect of construction.

Mountains Edge

Mountain's Edge is one of the fastest growing master-planned communities in the United States. Their hope was to restore the mascot mountain that was disturbed by Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) users for years before the development. Landtek hired Soil-Tech to re-create the mountain that is now used as their communities focus point and hiking trail. In order to achieve this goal, we brought in salvaged plant material, rock mulch, native seed and Permeon™. Today, this is one of the best successful restoration efforts in Southern Nevada.

Madeira Canyon

Madeira Canyon is a development within Anthem Henderson. Along with all of the communities within Anthem Henderson, we were tasked to recreate the disturbed desert through revegetation. Pulte Del Webb was one of the first master planned communities in Southern Nevada to embrace revegetation. From day one, we salvaged thousands of Yucca, Creosote, Bursage, and multi specie Cacti. Our non-irrigated revegetation survival rates continue to exceed 80%.

Development in the united states is evolving towards the focus that has drive soil-tech for nearly two decades – sustainable practices that preserve and protect the natural environment – and soil-tech continues to pursue the goal of restoring native desert habitats on all major construction projects in the southwest and west

Soil-Tech’s Native Resources Division began performing mature desert revegetation projects in the mid-1990’s in response to our clients’ desire to have a natural looking, flourishing desert habitat surrounding a newly developed master planned community. Impatience with the years that it can take for vibrant Yucca, Joshua Trees, and other hallmark vegetation of the Mojave Desert drove Soil-Tech to experimentation with transplanting mature desert plants to re-create a natural desert look.

Learning from best practices in other desert environments, and adapting through trial and error in the water deprived and harsh environment of the Mojave, Soil-Tech developed the gold standard for salvaging native plant material and achieving survival rates that rival Mother Nature herself.

Through its early focus on non-irrigated revegetation and desert restoration activities, Soil-Tech has firmly established itself as the largest Mojave Desert restoration company in the world. As the construction industry has just started moving towards environmentally friendly development projects, Soil-Tech has already positioned itself as the industry leader and expert in native habitat restoration.
